Because I’m always on my bike, I’m realizing more and more that I’m not experiencing the city in the same way as I did the first 5 years. While I’d never give up biking, I do miss the long walks on the weekends or on my commute - people watching, snapping photos and just taking it all in. Today, I decided to ditch my bike and do just that. I set off early and headed all the way downtown, then worked my way up from the New Amsterdam Market to the Hester Street Fair to Union Square.
It was a good reminder to slow things down every once in a while - stop focusing on the A to B and enjoy what’s in between - because let’s be honest, we’re in New York and there’s A LOT in between!

They’re giving tickets @ 72nd St Riverside Park for those not dismounting their bikes - watch out! Apparently those signs I blogged about were legit after all.
