10 photographers. 10 photos each. All taken on 10/10/10.
A single day represented in 100 photographs.
No special occasion, no big event, just the essence of daily life captured through ten lenses.
The 1010 project was devised as an antidote to everything in modern life always having to be bigger, better, louder and brighter than what’s been before.
It’s an opportunity to slow down and appreciate the simple, everyday things that make life beautiful.
Just a few of my favorites:

Reminder to give myself more assignments like this.
A few photos from Open House NY last weekend. This year, we stayed close to home and visited spots in Harlem and to the north. Stops included Heather Garden and the cottage at Fort Tryon Park, Dwyer Cultural Center, Casa Frela Gallery, La Maqueta and the East Harlem School.

If you’ve never done OHNY, you’re missing out. It’s not just about seeing places that aren’t normally open to the public - for me, it’s been discovering places I didn’t even know EXISTED in the first place. I’ve done it 5 or 6 years now and I’m still overwhelmed by the all the sites in this city with so much history and so many stories to tell.
- on the commute home tonight - in the dark, on my bike, in the pouring rain, mind you.
Thank you, thank you very much sir. I think I might stay a while.
A few favorites from my shoot with Pam Beckman last Saturday in their neighborhood and the Central Park Conservatory Garden where they got engaged. Thanks you guys - you (and Murray!) were great!

Everyone’s apple picking these days, and we’ve been talking about going but have wondered what we’d actually DO with so many apples. Well, here’s the answer for innovative ways to get your apple on. These recipes and many more at Design Crush. {click the images for the recipe]

Man. I really can’t believe I missed this. Max Wanger is one of my favorite photogs and his work is a huge source of inspiration. Max, please come back and do a workshop in NYC again soon - promise I won’t make the same mistake twice!

Toying with the idea of staying in a yurt during the Asheville leg of our upcoming trip. TrendCentral just reminded me of my longtime desire to experience one in today’s article, reporting 2010 as “year of the yurt.” Who knew? Time to get your YURT on, people!
